Counter Sales -Floater role for Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph

Gerrie Electric, one of Ontario’s largest independent electrical distributors has an opening for a motivated individual to join our growing team.

COUNTER SALES

Responsible for greeting customers and receiving and generating their orders efficiently and effectively. To, at all times, provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to customers and give them the upmost of assistance with regards to product availability, pricing and sourcing of material. To display an ongoing commitment to understand, promote and believe in the Gerrie commitment of being a service quality organization and to strive to maintain and continue to seek ways to improve the overall service quality.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

-Direct sales services of the general public

-Maintain friendly service and a positive Company image

-Service customer needs promptly and efficiently, addressing customer questions or concerns.

-Provide pricing and availability

-Develop knowledge of substitutes

-Be able to source products and provide technical information

-Enter customer orders into the Business System as per Gerrie procedures.

-Select and pack orders

-When required, perform wire cuts as per Gerrie documented procedure

-Handle customer returns/defectives

-Responsible for preparation and balancing of cash sales

-Handle customer phone orders

-Provide assistance/backup in shipping and receiving when required .

-Continue to develop your skill set as it relates to The Gerrie Organization, the Electrical Industry and the field of Sales

-Ensure all shelves are stocked and material is put away in a timely fashion

-Ensure float is counted and all transactions are accurate and balanced.

-Ensure timely completion of any/all special tasks as assigned by management

Please note that this is a floater role between our Kitchener, Cambridge and Guelph branches and having access to a vehicle is required

EDUCATION REQUIRED

-High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

-Some experience/knowledge in the electrical /industrial distribution field is an asset

-Previous customer service experience

-Math skills are essential (measurement conversions, pricing, etc.)

-Multi-tasking in a fast paced environment

-Excellent communication skills

-Organizational skills

Any electrical background (work experience, completed or partially completed school program in electrical related program)

$16/hour - $18/hour (depending on experience)
