What Does a Machine-Tool Builder & Integrator Do?

Machine-Tool Builders and Integrators build, assemble and integrate parts, components, and systems on both stand-alone and machine-tools on multi-station automated machine tool systems. These automated machine-tool systems are used in all sectors of manufacturing such as assembly, processing, and fabricating systems.

What Preparation and Training Do You Need?

In order to indenture as an apprentice, you must be at least 16 years of age or older in the province of Ontario and have completed Grade 12 or equivalent. Senior credits in  English, Advanced Math or Science (Physics) would be helpful, and enrollment in cooperative education or OYAP in this field would be an asset. Completion of this type of apprenticeship will take 8,000 hours and will include theory classes and experience on-the-job.
